Mt. Tam Optometric Center owner, Dr. Lassa Frank, proudly distinguishes his optometry practice as one of the most progressive in the eye care business. Located in San Anselmo, CA, Dr. Frank’s practice has become a well known one-stop shop for Marin County citizens needing vision care. With the use of cutting-edge technology and progressive treatments, customers are assured that they are receiving the best available service when contracting for eye care with Dr. Frank.
His services include: eye exams, prescriptions, contact lens fittings, pre- and post-opertaive cataract surgery care, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of eye diseases and injuries. He serves the very young to the elderly and is pleased to offer complimentary 1 year baby checks. This valuable service helps assure new parents that their children do not have noticeable problems that could lead to critical issues in the future. His customer base is derived mainly through “word of mouth” referrals from satisfied clients.
During Dr. Frank’s 20+ years practicing optometry in Marin, he has traveled extensively around the world and has personally given over 25,000 free eye care exams to the poor. He has put together eye care teams that have delivered over 100,000 pairs of glasses to the needy in Africa, Central America, and Mexico. He has worked with numerous non-profit organizations and is proud to be one of the founding members of what is now Lions in Sight, a charitable non profit group that provides eye exams and eyeglasses to those in need around the world.
Dr. Jacob Wanon
Dr. Wanon was born in Israel and raised in Montreal, Canada. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from U.C. Berkeley in 2007. Prior to his training, Dr. Wanon completed a University Diploma in Optometry and Contact Lens Science at University of South Paris, as well as a degree in Optics and Optometric Technology at Higher School of Optics of Paris in France. Dr. Wanon also completed a Master’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Montreal and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Wanon joined Mt. Tam Vision Center in 2014. Prior to joining Mt. Tam Vision Center, he practiced full scope optometry in Augusta, Maine for almost 2 years. In addition Dr. Wanon practiced in an ophthalmology clinic in Marin, California, comprised of elderly patients having ocular conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He has also been a faculty member at UC Berkeley School of Optometry where he taught Ophthalmic Optics and clinical optometry.
Dr. Wanon enjoys practicing full scope optometry. He provides comprehensive eye care to adults and children. Dr. Wanon’s focus is in specialty contact lens fittings for keratoconus, and multifocal contact lenses. He also provides pre and post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgeries and is board certified for the treatment and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma.
Dr. Wanon makes it his priority to provide the highest quality eye care in a friendly and caring environment. He also believes that it is very important to get to know how his patient’s use their eyes so that he can tailor the prescription and eyewear to meet the patients unique lifestyle needs. In addition, Dr. Wanon emphasizes early prevention and eye-sight preservation.
In his spare time Dr. Wanon enjoys spending time at the gym, listening to classical music, reading about astrophysics and brain science. He also likes spending quality time with his two daughters. Dr. Wanon is always ready for a hockey or football game. He speaks English, French, Hebrew, and exam Spanish.
